Lead Yard Salesperson – Trees & Shrubs

Full time, seasonal work – approximately March through December, minimum of one weekend day is required. Pay based on experience.

 

​​​​We are looking for an experienced gardener/horticulturist with plant knowledge, specifically trees and shrubs, to help customers in our garden center, manage our drip line system, and load bulk material with our loader. Ideally, applicant would also have field experience with pruning, planting, and other general landscaping practices.

 

As a part of The Phantom Gardener team, this individual is expected to be punctual, personable, and respectful towards our valued customers.
 

​​Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Unloading plants and trees from delivery trucks
- Properly watering and caring for trees, shrubs, perennials, and other plants
- Handling sprinkler system
- Loader Operator – loading bulk soil orders on site

- Assisting customers with plant selection and sales
- Loading customer cars

​Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs

- Horticultural experience and plant knowledge, specifically trees and shrubs, required
- Must be able to work independently under the direction of a manager

- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

- Experience operating loader/forklift is a plus
- Experience with POS systems and retail sales is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience

​​As a part of The Phantom Gardener team, this individual is expected to be punctual, personable, and respectful towards our valued customers.

​​Ideally looking for someone with gardening experience/plant knowledge to help customers in our garden center.

​​Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Unloading plants and trees from delivery trucks
- Properly watering and caring for trees, shrubs, perennials, and other plants
- Handling sprinkler system
- Loader Operator – loading bulk soil orders on site

- Delivery Driver – delivering customer soil/mulch and plant orders off site

- Assisting customers with plant selection and sales when necessary

- Weeding the sales yard

​Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 75+ lbs

- Must have a valid driver’s license

- Must be able to pass a CDL physical (CDL license not required)

- Experience operating loader/forklift other heavy machinery required

- Experience driving/operating dump truck required

- Horticulture knowledge and landscape equipment experience

- Must be able to work independently under the direction of a manager

- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

- Strong preference for someone with plant knowledge/experience
- Experience with POS systems and retail sales is a plus
